Daniel Breton

Daniel Breton

President and CEO

Daniel is responsible for the overall management of EMC leading the organization’s advocacy initiatives and strategic direction and identifying challenges and opportunities to advance the electrification of transportation. He serves as EMC’s media spokesperson and is a sought-after speaker on the topic on electric mobility.

A former Quebec Minister of the Environment, Sustainable Development, Wildlife and Parks, he was the first elected official in charge of a government strategy for the electrification of transportation in Canada in 2012. He graduated in sustainable carbon management and has written several books on the subject of transportation electrification, climate change, air pollution and energy transition since 2009.

Maureen Shuell

Maureen Shuell

Chief Operating Officer

Maureen has responsibility for operations and finance; the Board of Directors, committees, and governance issues; strategic planning and tracking; membership; business development; events; staffing issues and supports government relations efforts. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Accelerate: Canada’s ZEV Supply Chain Alliance; and, Autonomous Transportation Canada focused on advancing the future of cities, infrastructure, and interconnected mobility.

She has experience working in political and not-for-profit environments leading communications strategies, government relations, and large-scale conferences in managment roles, and as a consultant in the association and mobility sectors.

Anna Schuett

Manager of Communications and Events

Anna is responsible for member and external communications, including media relations, social media content creation and strategy, as well as marketing and planning for the annual conference, other events and campaigns.

She has a background working in progressive roles at the Canadian Urban Transit Association and other not-for-profit and charity organizations.  She has developed both strategy and implementation for a variety of sponsorship, fundraising, digital and communications programs.

Anne LaFaury

Membership and Administration Coordinator

Anne is responsible for maintaining member relations, managing EMC’s membership database, and outreach to new members. She also provides administrative, communication and financial support to the organization.

She is a recent graduate of the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies and Human Geography and has a track record of community involvement, volunteerism, leadership and customer service using both English and French.

Louise Lévesque

Louise Lévesque

Director of Policy

Louise focuses on policy development and issues management in collaboration with members and committees, and supports political meetings, government consultations, reports, and position papers on a number of electromobility issues. She leads the Government Relations Committee, and the Battery Working Group among others, and supports EMC’s campaign communications.

She has vast experience as a communications, marketing, and public relations consultant, specializing in the commercial, cooperative, and environmental sectors, and especially on EVs and charging. She has planned and executed electric vehicle test drive events, as well as educational and awareness campaigns, and has contributed to the development of communication plans, stakeholder relations, strategies and event logistics.

Bora Plumptre

Bora Plumptre

Director of Research

Bora supports advocacy and research initiatives, and the activities of member working groups for utilities and medium-and heavy-duty vehicles. He is the lead on the development of a National Electric Mobility Strategy and related issues.

Bora has a wealth of experience in federal policy and clean energy advocacy, as well as a passion for cleaner, healthier, climate-safe systems of transport. Previously a senior analyst with the Pembina Institute, Bora’s past research focused on policy options for low-carbon fuels and regulatory approaches to decarbonizing electricity and transport. Bora has also served as a staffer on Parliament Hill, as a research fellow with Sustainable Prosperity (now Smart Prosperity Institute), and as a consultant with the Natural Step Canada.
